TYPO London
October saw OPX partner Antony Harrington take to the stage at TYPO London 2011. It was a great opportunity to show off some recent type-focussed OPX projects, plus a sneak peak at London Typographica, our very own smartphone app and website aimed at type and lettering enthusiasts.
This is the first time the conference has been run in London, but judging by it's success, looks to be an annual event.

London Typographica
London Typographica is our studio pet project. Aimed at type and lettering enthusiasts, we are creating a smartphone app and website 'dedicated to mapping the typographic landscape of London'.
The idea is to enable type fans to capture photos of their favourite examples of publicly available type and lettering. Once uploaded from the smartphone app, we will automagically add each photo to the type map of London, showing exactly where it was taken.
An added bonus of the map is all the photos of a specific example will be documented in a chronological order, which means it will be possible to see how type is changing or degrading over time.
To celebrate the launch we collaborated with Graham Bignell and New North Press to produce some limited edition lettterpress posters.

ISTD Awards 2011
OPX won an International Society of Typographic Designers Premier Award for Corporate identity, Logotypes and Brandmarks for the work we did for London cycle cafe, Look Mum No Hands! The awards ceremony took place at the wonderful Museum of Branding, and we had great fun going though their amazing collection of packaging. Note the Sainsbury's 70s' cake packaging, beautifully typeset...
