BVT — Identity and guidelines

BVT Surface Fleet brought together the shipbuilding operations of two of the UK’s largest shipbuilders – BAE Systems and VT Group. With over 7,000 people across the UK, they will deliver the future aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy, the largest and most powerful surface warships ever built in the UK.

In a merger there are two key challenges. Firstly and most importantly, winning the hearts and minds of employees and ensuring the new brand has resonance with customers and other external stakeholders. Secondly, time critical delivery as the legal process of a merger or acquisition means that the roll out of a new brand is often time sensitive.

For BVT, OPX delivered a full set of material including signage, livery and brand guidelines for Day One in under 20 weeks.
