Look Mum No Hands — How do you build a brand based on passion?
The three founders of café bar ‘Look Mum No Hands!’ share two passions – cycling and great coffee. Their ambition was to create a place in central London where people could enjoy both. Somewhere distinctive, fun and personal that people would really love.
Our challenge was to create a brand that captured this spirit.
To reflect the founders’ passions, we drew on a couple of our own: traditional letterpress typography (courtesy of our friends at Graham Bignall’s letterpress workshop), and the great cycling posters of the 30s, 40s and 50s.
The result was a brand created with real craft. Applied everywhere from signage to cycling shorts, it’s helped Look Mum No Hands! become London’s most famous cycling venue.
And a brand that everyone from Bradley Wiggins to Mary Portas really loves.
