Lattitude — More than a name

GAP Activity Projects were established over 30 years ago and were a pioneer in providing the gap-year placements for student volunteers around the world. Growing international competition (and the presence of a major high street retailer of the same name) led the charity to seek a new name and a new brand approach.

Through consultation with people from all levels of the business and a sample of international student volunteers, we developed a brand position and message platform. We also developed and trademarked a new name – Lattitude – referencing geography and travel, freedom and flexibility.

Following the new brand launch, applications for placements have significantly risen, with a strong platform now in place to develop the brand as a global leader in its field.

Lattitude has also become an award winning identity, receiving a ReBrand 100 award and a Red Dot Design Award in 2009.
